TRYSTETTE  NYC   PRESS

Press re 2nd Album "Deepest Part of My Soul" (THL):

01. A lot of musicians these days seem to be striving to produce the aural equivalent of fast food. Trystette simply throws away the recipe book. They make the old sound new ("Sexual Healing") and the new, well, like nothing you've ever heard before: bleak but sensual, spooky but subversively charming, nervy and accomplished, all at once. Some of the tracks ("Brooklyn Boy in Berlin") use pop-like riffs to lull you into a false sense of security. You might slot it into your iPod's "My Top Rated" and not give it another thought - until you wake up in the middle of the night with Carrie Beehan singing in your ear. I doubt that we often use the word "thrilling" for music these days - Trystette makes the grade.

- Christian Caryl, Newsweek Tokyo Bureau Chief.

02. Stevens always works with the best, so I expected the same of Trystette's first album since 1998's Tryst and I was not let down. Moving away from but not completely letting go of electro-roots, The Deeper Part of My Soul is a beautiful exploration of funk, ambient, and house music, providing a perfect soundtrack for late night life.
